As an award-winning documentary filmmaker, episodic TV director, and music video veteran, Ben has been at the helm of over 100 hours of content including television, non-fiction, branded, and digital content—and has spent more than 15 years as a director and producer in the U.S. Latinx, urban, and youth markets.

In 2018, his feature length documentary, JOHN LEGUIZAMO’S ROAD TO BROADWAY, about the actor’s creative process while writing his latest one-man show, premiered on the PBS series: Great Performances. Previously, he directed the documentary TALES FROM A GHETTO KLOWN. Produced by DeJesus and Oscar-winner Fisher Stevens (THE COVE), the film premiered nationwide and received the NALIP Estela Award.

In 2014, Ben was selected as one of 10 directors from a pool of over 1,300 applicants for the ABC/DISNEY Episodic Director’s Program. Ben is now a director for BUNK’D, the top-rated sitcom on DISNEY. In his 2018 debut as a Broadway producer, he was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Play for JOHN LEGUIZAMO’S LATIN HISTORY FOR MORONS, which is currently touring nationally.

Ben began his career as a stage actor, before moving onto MTV Networks where he became one of the original producers and writers for several seasons of the iconic series MTV CRIBS. He also produced and wrote for MTV NEWS, VH1, MUN2, TELEMUNDO, NICK AT NITE, and many of the VJ’s on-air. His passion for pop culture, music, and theater has fueled his work since.

As a music video veteran, his work with ROMEO SANTOS, DON OMAR, MACHINE GUN KELLY, NOREAGA, CHINO Y NACHO, PRINCE ROYCE, FAT JOE, SEAN KINGSTON, among others has accumulated over one billion views.

Today, he is the president of NGL Studios, a production company that he co-founded with John Leguizamo and David Chitel. There he directs, produces, and creates a growing slate of original television, documentary, non-fiction, and digital projects.

Currently, he is directing an AMERICAN MASTERS film on RAUL JULIA which is set to release in Fall of 2019.
